G.H. Dunn Insurance Agency, Inc. is a third generation family-owned business founded in 1927 by Ralph C. Dunn, a former chicken farmer from Mattapoisett Massachusetts. The agency was originally known as the Ralph C. Dunn Insurance Agency and the first office was located in Mr. Dunn's home on Point Connett in Mattapoisett. Later that year, he relocated his business to the center of town. In 1962, Giles H. Dunn purchased the agency from his father, changed the name to G.H. Dunn Insurance Agency, Inc., and through select acquisitions grew the agency size exponentially. In 1995, David W. Dunn (current President) joined the agency after running a number of small businesses in Boston. In 2003, he purchased the agency from his father and became the 3rd generation owner/operator. Since taking over, David has grown the agency to five times its original size.
