Bates Insurance Agency was founded October 31, 1976 by Daniel J. Bates Sr, CLU. A lifetime resident of Medford who started out in the life insurance business in the 50s working for Metropolitan. In 1976 he decided to strike out on his own as an independant agent. Dan was a dedicated family man and business owner and extremely active in the Medford community. He built his business on serving his customers and that tradition continues today with his daughter, Andrea Bates McGrath.
