Bill King, an OSU grad, moved from Dayton OH to Petoskey MI in 1971. He was a Principal in Galster, Kingman, Shafer Agency which later merged with McCune Dickinson Agency and formed Centennial Insurance Agency. In 1989 Bill King started the William G. King Ins. Agency, Inc. The same year, Julia Makela (King) joined her father after graduating from MSU. After 18 years of working together and growing the business, Julia purchased the agency and renamed it King Insurance Agency Inc.
