M&M Insurance Agency was established on March 1, 1959 by Wallace Johnson. Although Johnson served clients in a variety of ways, he specialized in farm insurance. In addition to insurance, M&M also had an income tax business. On January 1, 1980, Johnson's son, Michael W. Johnson, joined the firm. Michael's knowledge and dedication to the agency resulted in him being named partner in 1986. M&M continued to thrive with the new partnership and upon Wallace's desire to retire; Michael purchased his father's interest in the agency and became sole owner in 1990. Michael W. Johnson would be the sole owner of M&M Insurance Agency for 21 years. On April 1, 2011, Chad W. Ostermann was introduced as partner. M&M Insurance Agency is in their 52nd year of managing risk and protecting property of their customers. Although they serve a much bigger area today, M&M continues to operate out of their one home office, on Main Street in Mapleton.
