Callahan & Rice Insurance Group, Inc. began its service to the Fayetteville community in 1966. Newton Robertson, Elizabeth Ellis and Thurston Callahan opened the agency to provide quality insurance coverages and a high level of professional service to business owners. Their combined experience and resources proved to be a good blend. A few years later, the agency began to offer insurance to individuals for their personal properties and vehicles. After Mr. Robertson and Ms. Ellis retired, Thurston Callahan operated the business with a continued focus on quality and service. In 1997, Mark W. Rice assumed management responsibilities for the agency. Since that time, the agency has added a Financial Services Division to include employee benefits and moved to its current location in historic downtown Fayetteville.
