Walker Insurance Agency was established around 1895 by J.S. (Jim) Walker. In 1923, he also formed Roxboro Savings and Loan Association. In 1930, Jim's nephew, J.C. (Bill) Walker, joined the firm and became the owner and operator of Walker Insurance Agency and managing officer of Roxboro Savings and Loan Association. In 1953, Joyce Walker Jones went to work for Walker Insurance Agency and became the sole proprietor in 1977. In 1992, her son, Robby W. Jones, joined the firm as office manager and producing agent. In 1994, Walker Insurance Agency became incorporated and moved to its present location at 801 N. Madison Blvd. Walker Insurance Agency, Inc. has been serving the needs of the people of Roxboro and Person County since 1895 and is looking forward to many years of continued success.
