In 1996 Scott started this agency, originally named the Scott Smith Agency, after working with a larger insurance company and realizing how much business they referred away to other small agencies. He opened his doors in Sidney, NY with no prior customers and it has grown tremendously over the years. In 2000, the Scott Smith Agency was rebranded to the Neighbors Insurance Agency and another office location was opened in Oneonta, NY.
