My husband, Bill Shetler, started with Allstate in 1980 when insurance was sold in Sears retail stores. I became an Allstate agent in 1988. Later Bill and I formed the Shetler Agency and opened an office on South Atherton Street which is where we are still located today. Upon his unexpected passing in 2002 I decided to continue the agency. All three of our children graduated from State College Area High School. Our 2 sons graduated from Penn State University and our daughter from Indiana University of Pennsylvania. They are all married and I now have 5 wonderful grandchildren to enjoy. In January, 2003 Amy Smith joined my team as a licensed sales producer. She has been in the insurance industry since 1990. Amy grew up in Penns Valley and continues to live there. She has 2 children in the Penns Valley Area School District. In November 2006, Dorothea Stitzer came on board. She is also from Penns Valley and still lives there with her husband Vince and son Trenton.
