I like to tell people that I came to work for my father temporarily in 1991. Now here I am 27 years later. After my father passed away in 1997, I purchased the business from my mother. Nothing was given to me because as 1 of 5 siblings, that might cause a problem. I took out a loan and starting from scratch with 1 file cabinet and an old IBM computer, I went to work. Working by myself for 6 days a week, I slowly built a book of business. I paid myself just enough to cover my rent where I was living and to put food on the table. I will never forget the lessons my father taught me about customer service and pass them on to my current employees. Here at Tony DiServio Insurance, we realize there is only one boss. The customer. And he can fire everybody in the company simply by spending his money somewhere else.
