Tradewinds Insurance began in LaConner, WA as Spidell & Associates in 1990. The name was later changed to Interwest Insurance when the agency was sold to Interwest Bank (later Pacific Northwest Bank) and the office relocated to Oak Harbor. In 2003 PNB sold to Wells Fargo and the insurance agency was purchased by Robert Young, Rita Stephenson, and Susanne Skilbeck, who all worked for the agency. The name was changed to Tradewinds Insurance at that time. In 2005 we acquired Richardson Insurance in Oak Harbor and relocated to our current location on Hwy 20. The owners of Tradewinds bring more than 75 years of combined insurance experience and the staff pushes that to more than 100 years.
